Startitis
So I finished Robin on Monday night. Not as quick as I would've liked, but four days is okay. I soaked it yesterday and laid it out to block.
And due to the crappy and overcast weather, it's still there, a full day later. It's only damp now, though. Emily has requested a black pompom, and who am I to refuse?
And speaking of outlandish child requests, I can't believe I'm granting this one. Emily has requested a black bolero. So far, so good. A *sparkly* black bolero. Uh, okay.
Then she picked the yarn.
Moda Vera Ballroom. 100% acrylic, with added sequins. It's awful. It isn't easy to knit. However, I'm hoping this'll make me knit it quicker to get it over and done with. Even David looked at it last night and said "What is that shit? Who are you, and what have you done with my wife?"
I'm using the Top-Down Shoulder Warmer pattern from Cosmic Pluto. Nice and quick, I hope! (You think I'd learn not to say that after Robin, wouldn't you?)
And I finally finished weaving in and trimming the ends on Autumn Rose.
There were just a few! Modelled pics at the weekend, I hope!

I am hoping the knitting goes quickly with that yarn.
Posted by: Suzanne at March 12, 2009 10:25 AMHa ha, love David's comment!! Em is a very lucky daughter!
Look at all those ends! You could spit splice them into another whole ball of yarn just about!!
Posted by: RoseRed at March 12, 2009 11:01 AMYou either have the magpie gene, or you don't. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Em has...
Remember: it could have been hot pink with sequins!
Posted by: Andrea at March 12, 2009 11:45 AMHmm! I've passed Ballroom a few times and wondered what it would be like to knit with [not that I've wanted to]; I'm a bit with David - I can't imagine you knitting it! The things we do for love! Time to teach Em to knit for herself I think!!
Posted by: Lynne at March 12, 2009 06:02 PMYarn with sequins - that sounds like a challenge to knit with. But it does look pretty & I am sure the bolero will turn out great. I am also knitting a black bolero but with plain old cotton.
Posted by: Ann at March 13, 2009 10:59 AMWell, the bolero will be cute at least - you are so nice to knit with that yarn...it could be worse, though - could have been fun fur!
Posted by: Jeanne at March 13, 2009 11:15 AMhmmm...that looks pretty sparkly indeed! must be a pain to knit though - but i bet emily will look fetching in her sparkly bolero!

Donna, I saw the Ballroom the other day and I asked myself who would be crazy enough to knit with it......thanks for answering my question :) I am sure it will look great when it is done!!
Can't wait to see the Autumn Rose.
