Etsy!
Tuesdays are my day off from TAFE. Friday too, but Tuesday is my midweek "my" day. Although apparently I forgot to send myself the memo.
I was going to spend all day today catching up with Venezia. However, it's just after 9pm, and I haven't even picked her up yet. She might see a round or two before bed, if I get off the computer.
But in very exciting news, I opened an etsy store for my little project bags! You can also see the link over in my sidebar.
I have been working pretty steadily on my Noro socks.
I really like the way they're knitting up - Noro always looks so good in entrelac. I am disappointed that the pink didn't come through until the foot though.
Here's the back of the sock - the cream stitches are the stitches for the afterthought heel.
Some of those stitches are K2tog, so I'm a little worried about how difficult it's going to be to pick them up later on.
Much as I'm enjoying the way the sock looks, I can't say I'm a huge fan of the yarn itself. It's scratchy, and it keeps twisting up on itself. It also has the same thick and thin tendencies that the original Kureyon had. All in all, I probably wouldn't buy it again. I wish I could get the same colours in a nicer yarn!
Comments
Where did my comment go?
I said I love the red ones. And the black one. And the psychadelic one.
And how come this post was made at 9:53 but it's only 9:46? You're cleverer than I thought, bending time!
Congratulations on the store opening.
Oh. They both made it. Lucky, I was just about to post it a third time.
Vey. Time to knit for me.

I want project bags!!
I love the Noro sock!
Posted by: bells at September 8, 2009 11:23 PMAfterthought heel - intriguing!!
Congrats on the etsy shop - the bags look great (always so hard to resist more bags. More bags means more projects, right?!)
Posted by: Rose Red at September 8, 2009 11:30 PMLove the way the socks are looking. Very patchwork.
Posted by: Walden at September 8, 2009 11:42 PMThe one pair of Kureyon socks that I've knit so far--I was less than pleased with the yarn myself. But after a time or two through the washer and dryer, I absolutely love the socks. They felted just slightly, not enough to shrink, but enough to make the stitches a bit tighter, making them more impervious to cold. They're one of my warmest pairs of socks, now. And they still go through the washer and dryer, with no problems yet.

Posted by: Marika at September 9, 2009 02:53 AMI've found that my Noro neckscarfcirclethingy softens up every time I wash it. Pulling the actual straw (!!!) out of the yarn also helped. I don't think it's ever going to be Really Really Cashmere soft, but gentle washing (aka completely dunking for an hour at a stretch as necessary) really helps.
Posted by: CraftyGryphon at September 9, 2009 04:36 AMVery nice looking socks! And you already know what I think about the yarn!! tee-hee!
Posted by: Lynne at September 9, 2009 10:09 AMI'm with you on the Noro sock - wouldn't got there again, too "rustic", but love the colours - dilemma!
congrats on the shop and good luck!
Posted by: Kylie at September 9, 2009 10:27 AMYeah for you and your Etsy store! And love your mascot, Twinkie: Queen of Quality Control!
Will definitely be getting a box bag at next payday. They look great and I love the polar bear fabric, though I can't believe your selling them, I figured they would be the ones you'd keep for yourself.
The sock looks great & I love the colors. Had a feel of the Noro before & also did not like the stratchy feel, so never own a ball. Now I have to go & check on your store.
Posted by: Ann at September 9, 2009 12:01 PMCongrats on the Etsy store - love the box bags!
The sock is amazing - I really need to try entrelac someday.
Posted by: Jeanne at September 10, 2009 03:40 AMLove your Etsy store! Does the boxy bag have a handle or is it free standing?
Posted by: Evelyn at September 11, 2009 09:01 AMThe sock is fantastic! what wonderful colors. Your bags are adorable and so useful. I'm going to keep on the look out for one of the fabrics I saw in another post.
