If you see my mojo...
So, has anyone seen my knitting mojo? Nope, me either.
That's not to say that I've not been doing any knitting at all. I have, I just can't seem to whip up any enthusiasm for it right now., so it's going more slowly than usual.
Oblique has seen some action. I finished the back, and started the fronts.
I think this is what might be sapping my knitting enthusiasm. I don't know why, though. I like the cardi, I like the colour. It might be because it's such a heavy weight yarn. I'm not really a fan of working with heavy yarns, and it's starting to get warmer here, so I doubt this will see any wear this year.
The logical thing would be to put it down and start something new, right? I'm afraid to do that. Generally, once I put something down, it never sees the light of day again. So I'm slogging away on it, slowly.
It's not really portable, so I've also started a smaller project.
Pink socks! The pattern is the Akomeogi socks, and the yarn is Wendy "Happy" which the lovely DrK gave me for my birthday. I was going to knit plain ribbed socks with it, because the stripes don't often work with a pattern, but then I saw this pattern, and knew it was meant to be!
In other news, the screen on my laptop died over the weekend. So it's going off for repairs, and I'll have less computer access than usual. Maybe I'll get more knittiing done! (That may also have something to do with lack of access to "Plants vs Zombies" ;)

Love the socks! Hope your laptop gets fixed soon. Those games are big time users. I have an Ipod Touch and I am not addicted to Tap Resort, Tap Ranch, Tap Zoo and Tap Farm. I need to stop!!
Posted by: Suzanne at September 14, 2010 09:56 AMthat pattern is a perfect match for that yarn, and the whole thing is just YOU! i know what you mean about the heavy cardi tho. i have put the landon away but i was not as far in as you. what if you started a lightweight cardi. why dont you have a featherweight donna?!
Posted by: drk at September 14, 2010 01:55 PMLove the socks - it's always a struggle to find a pattern that works well with self striping yarn. Hope something comes along soon that brings your knitting mojo with it!
Posted by: Yarna at September 14, 2010 02:48 PMThose socks are truly the perfect marriage of yarn and pattern. Too wonderful! And I agree with Tia -- they totally remind me of ice cream!!
Posted by: Sus at September 15, 2010 02:23 AMKnitting mojo should have returned with the cold wet day yesterday? The sock is the perfect marriage of yarn and pattern.
Posted by: Ingrid at September 15, 2010 09:06 AMAny time I worked with something that had seed/moss stitch, it affected my knitting mojo. Matter of fact, I think I'll blame seed/moss stitch for killing my knitting altogether (whether it's true or not!).
The sock pattern is perfect for the yarn. Love it.
Posted by: Restless Knitter at September 16, 2010 04:34 AMI agree with restless knitter, that amout of moss stitch (with shaping in it) can kill any knitting mojo.
I started the minimalist cardigan once and that's what happened to me..
Love the socks - the colors & the stitch pattern are perfect match. I understand how you feel about knitting Oblique. I have a similar project which I was not enjoying & I put it down & have not touched it for a year.

That sock pattern is awesome! I love how the stripes are working with the pattern. I think that may have to find it's way into my pattern stash :D The colours remind me of ice-cream :D
