Bits and Bobs
Where have I been? Here and there. Doing this and that. It feels like my knitting production has bottomed out, but I think I've just been busy. With the sad, sad demise of Calico & Ivy, I'd been panic buying. Yarn, and fabric too, particularly Liberty. The only place in Sydney that I'm aware of that stocks it now is Tessuti, and they don't have a huge range. (At last count at C& I, there were 248 bolts. Thats a lot of Liberty!)
Theres a lot of Liberty in my stash now. Maybe even too much. Nah, no such thing!
There's also a *lot* of Rowan yarn. So I've been through the stash and through the queue and matched yarn up to projects, scanned patterns for the iPad, and I'm set. Probably for the next four years. Looking at the stash this way is kind of illuminating. I definitely don't need any more yarn!
I finished the knitting on Water and Stone.
I'm pretty happy with it, although the last 30cm or so was a long, boring slog. It's blocking now, and I think it'll be a great garment this winter.
I've started something new. Any guesses?
And the other thing I've spent a lot of time on this week is finishing my mums quilt for Mothers Day.
Binding. It takes hours, and it's boring. I get so easily distracted! I did the piecing months ago and sent it off to be quilted. It was with the quilter for a long time, and panic was beginning to set it in, but I got it back in time and I'm really pleased with the end result.
I haven't given it to her yet, because she's been away for the weekend, but I hope she likes it!
(I'm still not a Quilter though! ;)

Love the pink sweater....the quilt turned out lovely, and I haven't got a clue what the lavender piece is. I do love that color too.
Posted by: Amy at May 13, 2013 05:09 AMLove the quilt! Can't wait to see a modeled shot of the sweater.
Posted by: Suzanne at May 13, 2013 09:17 AMfor a person who is not a quilter you make a really nice quilt! im glad you got to add to your rowan and liberty stash but am sad those days are over. i have a feeling the new thing is something kim hargraves. no idea where i get that feeling from?! also, water and stone is gorgeous.
Posted by: drk at May 13, 2013 09:37 AMLove the quilt, hope your mum likes it. I can tell a lot of work and concentration went into making it.
Also love Water & Stone. Will love to see it on you.
Your quilt is beautiful. I love those colours together.

Posted by: Lynne at May 14, 2013 11:15 AMThe cardigan is lovely and that's a lot of knitting. I think you are more of a quilter than I am as I can't even sew. Lovely quilt.
Posted by: Ann at May 15, 2013 12:21 PMHi there would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

All of your projects are pretty and inspiring. Is that a baby dress in there? It is nice to have some projects penciled out for the future.
I should do some long range planning like that.
